How the sum works
Profit is the price, minus what the item cost you, minus the postage label, minus eBay’s fee, minus the advertising fee if the listing is promoted. The two fees are percentages of the price. The margin is the profit as a share of the price.
Which fee rate to type
eBay’s selling fee depends on the category, on whether you sell as a business and on your store subscription, and it changes from time to time. Look it up on eBay’s own fee page for your category and type that figure. The calculator does not guess it for you.
What it leaves out
One listing on its own: no refunds, no packaging, and one cost for the item. For a product bought several times at different prices, the cost of each sale depends on the batch it comes from. The guide on FIFO stock cost explains that, and the guide on real profit on eBay covers the whole sum.
