The problem

Revenue is not profit. Not even close.

eBay shows you what you sold. Sellcount shows you what you kept, one order at a time.

  • Fees arrive on other dayseBay charges fees, ads and labels as separate lines, sometimes weeks after the sale. Sellcount ties each one back to its order.
  • Stock cost hides in a spreadsheetWhat you paid for a batch is not what the next batch costs. Sellcount uses the batch the sale really came from.
  • Refunds and returns undo the mathsA refund, a return to stock, a lost parcel. Each one changes profit, and each one is a line you can see.

How it works

From connected to certain in three steps

No spreadsheet formulas to maintain and no month end panic.

  1. 1Step 1

    Connect your eBay store

Sign in on eBay’s own page and give Sellcount read-only access. Your last 30 days come first, then up to 90, usually within minutes. A daily sync keeps it current.

  2. 2Step 2

    Record what you buy

Add each purchase with its delivery and extras. Sellcount shares those costs into a landed cost per unit and keeps every delivery as a batch.

  3. 3Step 3

    See what you really made

Profit by month, order and product, checked against eBay’s payouts. Click any number to see how it was worked out.

Two sheets, one truth

Everything an eBay business needs, in two sheets

They share the same orders and the same real cost, so the two never disagree.

The sheet for what you keep

Every sale, fee, label and refund turned into a clear monthly profit and loss.

  • Monthly P&L with a column for each month and a total
  • Orders table, with Explain this number on every figure
  • Profit by product, with margin and return on cost
  • Reconciliation to eBay payouts and a month end checklist
  • Period locks, an audit log and Excel or PDF reports

Click any number. See exactly why.

Every figure in Sellcount opens into the sale, the fees, the postage, the refund and the batch behind it. If a number looks wrong, you can prove it, or fix it at the source.

True cost of goods

Your cost changes with every delivery. Your profit should too.

Sellcount keeps each delivery as a batch and always sells the oldest first, the way your shelf works. Drag the slider and watch the cost follow.

120 units in stock
Batch #1$4.20 each

0 of 40 left (40 sold)

Batch #2$4.95 each

35 of 50 left (15 sold)

Batch #3$5.40 each

30 of 30 left

Cost of goods for these sales

$242.25

Average cost of a unit sold

$4.40

A plain average would charge every unit the same. Oldest batch first charges each unit what it really cost, so a month with cheap old stock and a month with dear new stock show their true profit.

Reconciliation

Every period reconciles to eBay, or shows you why it does not.

Sellcount lines up your orders, fees and refunds against what eBay actually paid out.

  • Order 27-11034$48.20
  • Order 27-11035$22.10
  • Order 27-11036$91.75
  • Order 27-11037$35.00
  • Order 27-11038$12.40

eBay payout, 14 September

$1,284.50

30 of 31 orders matched

1 to look at: $12.40

Order 27-11038 was refunded after this payout was calculated. A timing gap, not a mistake. It settles in the next payout.

And everything around it

The boring parts, handled

The tools that turn a pile of orders into a business you can run with confidence.

Month end, in under an hour

A checklist walks you from the first import to a month you can close, with every open question listed.

Period locks

Close a month and freeze it. A late refund then shows as a clear adjustment in the open month, never a silent change.

Audit log

Who changed a price, a cost or a stock count, and when. Written by the database, so nothing slips past it.

Team roles

Owner, Manager, Operator and Viewer. An Operator packs and logs stock without ever seeing your profit.

Shared inventory

Several stores can draw from one stock, so a unit bought once is costed once.

Reorder suggestions

Spots what runs out before a new order could arrive, at the speed it really sells, and suggests how many to buy.

Data health

Catches missing prices, listings that disagree with stock and costs that jumped, before they distort a month.

62 widgets, your layout

Build the dashboard you want for each sheet and store. Move, resize, add and compare against last period.

Reports your accountant likes

Pick a period and the sections you need. Excel and PDF open with an overview of the headline figures.

Seven currencies

GBP, USD, EUR, CAD, AUD, CHF and PLN. A currency mismatch with eBay is caught and walked through.

A bell that earns its place

Sync finished, reconnect needed, stock mismatch. Only the things you would want to know about.

Security and privacy

Built like it holds your whole business. Because it does.

Your sales data is private.

  • Read-only eBay access

You sign in on eBay’s own page. Sellcount never sees your eBay password and cannot change a listing, message a buyer or move money.

  • Two-factor sign in

Authenticator app codes, one-time recovery codes, and a list of every device that is signed in with a button to sign them all out.

  • No buyer details kept

eBay’s raw answers hold buyer names and addresses. They stay on the server, out of reach of the app. Sellcount keeps money, order ids, items and the shipping country.

  • Walls between accounts

Every table is protected by row level security in the database itself, and two-factor is enforced there too. One account can never read another’s data.

  • Tokens locked away

eBay access tokens are encrypted at rest and only decrypted inside server jobs. They are never logged and never sent to your browser.

  • Yours to take or delete

Download everything a store holds as Excel or PDF, and delete your account whenever you like. Your data is not locked in.

Questions

Straight answers

The things sellers ask before they connect their store.

What is Sellcount?

Sellcount works out the real profit of an eBay business. It reads your orders, fees, postage labels and refunds from eBay, adds what your stock really cost, and shows net profit by month, by order and by product. Every period is checked against eBay’s payouts, so you see which orders do not add up instead of guessing.

What does beta mean?

Sellcount is a real, working product that is still being sharpened. Expect fast changes, the odd rough edge and a team that reads every message you send. Your data is handled with the same care as in the final product. Plans, limits and prices are being finalised, and we will tell you before anything changes for you.

How does Sellcount get my eBay data?

You press Connect eBay and sign in on eBay’s own page. Sellcount never sees your eBay password. It asks for read-only permission to your orders, fees, refunds, payouts and listings. It cannot change a listing, answer a buyer or move money.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, 14 days, and it needs no card. You get the full product on the plan you pick, so you can connect eBay and look at a real month before you pay anything.

What happens if I go over my plan’s limits?

Nothing is ever deleted. If you reach a limit you cannot add new things until you upgrade, and you can still read everything, run reports and export your data. Order limits are counted each month, for each store.

Can I take my data with me?

Yes. Build Excel or PDF reports for any period from either sheet, and the owner can download everything a store holds, both sheets included, from the Account page. You can delete your account and your data whenever you like.
